David Bernatchez Memorial Bursary-Rugby
This scholarship was established in 2022 to honour the memory of David Bernatchez. Dave was a significant contributor to the sporting community in Calgary in a variety of unique roles (including with the CSHSAA). His passion ran most deeply in the sport of rugby. Dave connected easily with people and left everyone better for knowing him. This bursary will allow Dave’s memory to carry on and benefit others in his name.
There are two, $5000 bursaries that will be awarded each year. Recipients may be male or female and either have played, or volunteered, in the sport of rugby. This bursary will be renewable for a maximum of four years. Recipients must have demonstrated service and leadership in their rugby community. Recipients must be admitted and enrolled in a full time program at St. Francis Xavier University (St. FX) to be eligible for the award.
