2023-24 SWIM CITY CHAMPIONSHIPS

CSHSAA Swim & Dive City Championships
Tuesday, December 5th, 2023
at MNP Sports Centre.

 

This is an exciting competition where swimmers of all levels/abilities - brand new swimmers to Olympic hopefuls - will be showing off their fast swimming in the four competitive strokes.

There are 450 swimmers competing in the Elbow meet. 

There are 500 swimmers competing in the Bow meet. 

 
SWIM
Schools are split into an Elbow division (schools with small teams) and a Bow division (schools with large teams). Athletes race against those with similar swim experience.



The Elbow division competition begins at 9:15 am:
All Saints, Bishop McNally, Bishop O’Byrne, Bowness, Centennial, Central Memorial, Crescent Heights, Ernest Manning, Father Lacombe, Forest Lawn, James Fowler, Jack James, Joane Cardinal-Schubert, Lester B Pearson, Lord Beaverbrook, Nelson Mandela, North Trail, Robert Thirsk, Our Lady of the Rockies, St. Martin de Porres and St. Timothy.
 
The Bow division competition begins at 1:30 pm:
Bishop Carroll, Bowness, John G Diefenbaker, Notre Dame, Sir Winston Churchill, St. Francis, Western Canada, Dr. EP Scarlett, Henry Wise Wood, St. Mary's, William Aberhart and Queen Elizabeth (competing with William Aberhart).



 
DIVE
Warm-up begins at 10:00am and competitions begin at 10:30am.

Diving Competitors are divided into three divisions: Red, Green and Blue. 
Red - currently competitive swimmers and divers
Green - formerly competitive swimmers or synchronized swimmers or water polo competitors
Blue - students who have never competed

Please note:
  • Parents are welcome to watch but parent spectators are not permitted on the pool deck (unless volunteering as an official),
  • heat sheets will not be sold (you can get pdf copies from your child’s school to print)
  • parking will be limited.
